A wonderful #ECREA2022 has come to an end and we thank all members for sharing their research, for building the #ecreapolcomm network, and for attending the business meeting on Thursday! The section is healthy, has a record number of members, and a very good number of conference submissions this year.
At the business meeting, a new section management team was elected: Agnieszka Stepinska is the new Chair of the section, Jakob Ohme remains as Vice Chair, and Nicoleta Corbujoins the mgmt team as Vice Chair.
We thank our outgoing Chair Melanie Magin for her yearlong, tremendous comittment and service to the section and for leading it through the not-so-easy Covid times.
At the business meeting, our YECREA representatives Cristina Monzer and Emilija Gagrčin presented their work on the ECREA Polcomm Pre-Conference workshop they organized for early-career scholars, which was well received. Thank you both for your great work.
We congratulate Olga Pasitselska (The Hebrew University of Jerusalem) for winning the best abstract award for her work on: “We are humans, first of all”: Constructing and renegotiating audiences’ identities in conflict discourse.
We furthermore announced that the 2023 Interim Conference of the section will take place in Berlin, Germany with the local host being the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society on August 31 and September 1, 2023. Mark you calendars!.
